Bold Prediction:

The NBA's no. 1 draft pick, rookie Victor Wembanyama, if he stays healthy, will help Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame rookie, Gregg "Coach Pop" Popovich, win his sixth NBA Finals championship this season.

You heard it here first, ladies and gentlemen.

If I am wrong, then I will swim across the San Antonio River under cover of darkness, with my eyes closed. Those who are familiar with the River Walk know what a scary proposition that is.

The NBA game is a scary proposition, to some, because the game has changed. In 2023-24, giants among men now hoist leather-laced balls from distances unheard of in the 1940's - 1990's, and even in to the Millennium.

There has never been a taller 7-footer with a smoother stroke, from the 3-point fatherland, than the young Mr. Wembanyama.

Yes, the Western Conference is juked with the juggernaut and defending NBA Finals winners Denver Nuggets, plus the vengeance-is-ours Los Angeles Lakers.

But the Flying Frenchman will jook, jam-up, soar over the Denver Joker and LeBron "King" James, and break-off a better rookie season than Spurs legend Tim Duncan, while zapping the moniker "VW" in all of the Alamo City graffiti art.

I hear what some of you all are saying about me, right now.

But "Shut yo' mouth mama don't you talk about me." - Zapp, featuring Roger Troutman, from the song "Be Alright."

But I digress.

First of all, Mr. Duncan rarely digressed on the NBA stage. Yet, he did not make a single 3-pointer in his rookie season.

Wembanyama might end up surpassing Stephen Curry's all-time NBA 3-point record. You heard it here first.

VW and the Spurs will be alright this season.
