And every spirit that confesses not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world (1 John 4:3).
The word “anti” means “against.” Christians are followers of Jesus Christ, Almighty God. So, anti-Christians are the enemies of God – they are against the Lord Jesus Christ and Christians.
Since Satan is the proud leader of the against-God movement, being anti-Christian means being Satan’s follower.
Antichrist form factors
Antichrists come in many different form factors, shapes, sizes, nationalities, religions and professions.
Some antichrists may question whether or not Jesus even ever lived. Others may outright deny that Jesus ever lived. Still, others may believe that Jesus actually lived – yet deny that He is the Messiah.
Also, some antichrists may claim that Jesus Christ was a prophet and a master teacher - but not the Messiah.
“Antichristian” is usually a collective term for the people who oppose Jesus and Christians. Finally, a relatively few antichrists may claim to be Jesus Christ Himself.
The Holy Bible refers to these antichrist types as “false Christs” and “false prophets” (Matthew 24:24).
Now there is one particularly malevolent man who is known as “the Antichrist” described in the Holy Bible as “the son of perdition” and “that man of sin” (2 Thessalonians 2:3).
The Antichrist has a false-Christ form factor.
“The” Antichrist
The Antichrist is a false Christ who works alongside another man known as the false prophet. Both are powered by Satan.
The Antichrist is known for committing the “abomination of desolation” – described by both Daniel and Jesus. The abomination of desolation is the act of desecrating God’s Holy Temple with pagan rituals.
Then the Antichrist, after telling the world that he is Almighty God, will kick-off the 3.5-year “great tribulation” – the horrific persecution of Jews in Judaea and Christians in general, as described in the Bible.
Conclusion
Here is something very important to remember. Even if you consider yourself in the middle, something like an agnostic – not an enemy or an ally of Jesus Christ – the Lord considers you against Him.
He that is not with me is against me: and he that gathers not with me scatters (Luke 11:23).
If a person repents, admits their sins, seeks the kingdom of God, first, spreads the gospel of Jesus Christ and remains firm in the faith until Jesus returns, then the Lord does not consider that person to be anti-Christian any longer.
Repent! And watch for the fulfillment of more and more end times prophesies, pray and patiently wait for the Lord Jesus Christ while you endure, firm in the faith, to the end.
